19 Die BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH wurde im Jahr 2005 als gemeinsames Unternehmen der sächsischen Hochschulen (diese sind die Gesellschafter) gegründet. Seitdem übernimmt die BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH den Systembetrieb und die Weiterentwicklung der Lernplattform im Auftrag der sächsischen Hochschulen.

21 Integraler Bestandteil dieser Infrastruktur ist ein verteilter Authentifizierungsmechanismus (auf Basis von Shibboleth), welcher die Login-Daten aus den Hochschul-Rechenzentren nutzt. So ist es möglich, dass keine neuen eigenen Logins für die Lernplattform durch die BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH vergeben werden müssen, sondern die vorhandenen Accounts an den Hochschulen genutzt werden können. Für eine solche Infrastruktur ist es notwendig, dass Daten die Server der Hochschulen verlassen - aber natürlich nur über gesicherte Verbindungen. Nur hierzu müssen Sie Ihr Einverständnis durch das Akzeptieren der Nutzungsbedingungen bei der Registrierung geben.

44 The BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH was established in 2005 as a joint venture of Saxon universities (which also use to be the shareholders). Ever since, the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH has assumed system maintenance and development of the learning platform on behalf of the Saxon universities.

46 An integral part of this infrastructure is a spread authentication mechanism (based on Shibboleth), which uses the login data from the university computer centres. In this way, no new logins need to be assigned by the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH, as the existing university accounts can be used to log in to the learning platform.
