Ever since, the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH has assumed system maintenance and development of the learning platform on behalf of the Saxon universities. | ||

| 16 | An integral part of this infrastructure is a spread authentication mechanism (based on Shibboleth), which uses the login data from the university computer centres. In this way, no new logins need to be assigned by the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH, as the existing university accounts can be used to log in to the learning platform. For such an infrastructure, it is necessary that data leaves the servers of the universities - but of course only via secure connections.
