01 Browser Compatibility

Last modified by Carina Enke on 13.02.2024

To use the learning platform OPAL, you need a powerful internet browser.

For optimum system performance, we recommend the use of Google Chrome. Please make sure to always work with the latest version of the respective browser. Otherwise, you may not be able to use all system functions (properly).

The following web browsers are supported:

  • current and previous version of Mozilla Firefox (Windows, macOS, Linux)
  • current and previous version of Google Chrome (Windows, macOS, Linux)

As of 01.03.2020, our servers will only use TLS 1.2 or higher according to the BSI standard to ensure state-of-the-art encryption security. As a result, older browsers or operating system variants (see list below) will no longer be able to access our services, as they do not support the required TLS versions.
