Drawing Molecules Interaction

Icon_Moleküle zeichnen.png The Drawing molecules question type is suitable for questions in which learners have to draw or complete molecular structures. To give answers, learners are provided with a drawing area in which the JSME Molecule Editor is integrated. With it, chemical structures can be created.

For this question type, automatic assessment is available. It is done on the basis of a stored SMILES structure code. Similar to fill-in-the-gaps tasks, alternative answers can be defined. As an author, you can also set up the drawing area and thus, for example, already specify parts of the molecule structure.

Question & Answer Tab

You can configure the answer to your question in the Answers section and define the basic settings of the drawing area:

Answer

Enter the correct answer as SMILES code.

Alternatives

If necessary, add other answers that are considered correct. Use a line break or comma to separate several entries.

Size Drawing Area

Set the dimensions of the drawing area. If you do not want to change the values, the default size of 800 px width and 300 px height is set.

Refresh Size

If you have done size changes, you can refresh the drawing area displayed for you as an author by clicking on this button. The size of the drawing area displayed in the editor corresponds to the later size in the participant view of the test.

Pre-set Drawing Area

The displayed drawing area allows you to pre-configure the questions for the participants. In this way, you can, for example, already specify parts of the molecular structure. These are then displayed to the participants who can further complete or change them.

Reset Template

This button clears the entire drawing area.
