Here is how you can create a customized study path similar to the example file:
1. | Create a test and select “Linear mit Testwegsteuerung" (linear with logical test structure) in the test options. | ![]() |
2. | Create the necessary sections and questions along with the answers. The sample test consists of one question on the selected module. Each of the three modules offered should display two subject-related tasks. Thus, you need three sections for the test. The first one for module selection, a second one with the first subject-related task per module, and a third with the second subject-related task per module. Other arrangements are also possible, e.g. one section per module with the corresponding subject-related tasks of the module.
| ![]() |
3 | In the example, the choice interaction question type was used. You can, however, also use all the other question types. When assigning visibility settings, it is helpful to know the ID of each answer, which can also be displayed. This can be done by enabling the option “Identifier (ID) der Antworten anzeigen" (show identifiers (IDs) of answers” in your settings. | ![]() |
4 | If necessary, customise the IDs of the answers. To simplify the sample test for the module selection task, the IDs of the answers were named according to the modules: T-PP > Topic Project Planning, T-RM > Topic Risk Management, T-TM > Topic Team Management. | ![]() |
5 | Create a user variable to save the module selection in the variables tab. A user variable is required to save the learner's answer to the module selection. Make sure you use the correct variable type “text” in this case. (1) Additionally, create a condition to ensure that a module is assigned to the user even if no selection is made (the user clicks the Next button without selecting an answer). In the example, a condition has been added that assigns the topic to Project Planning (T-PP). (2) It is also possible to choose a random selection (value set: random selection). | ![]() |
6 | Set your visibility preferences. For each subject-related task, a visibility rule is created according to the module selection. You can recognise tasks for which visibility rules have already been defined by the lock icon in the test structure. General information on creating visibility rules can be found on the page Setting the Visibility. | ![]() |
7 | Check the preview to see if all the visibility rules have been created. | ![]() |
