Portfolio template

Last modified by Carina Enke on 23.01.2024

The learning resource Portfolio Template is the basic structure of a portfolio collaborative folder, in which course users can contribute portfolio tasks. It can be created under My Resources and attached to a course element Portfolio Task. Once created, a template can be re-used repeatedly, even in different courses or portfolio course elements.

Within a portfolio template, you can set concrete specifications for the expected content of the collaborative folder. You can, for example, determine how many and what kind of artefacts users should save to a specific portfolio area.

To create a portfolio template, proceed as follows:

  1. Open the tab Teach & Learn and go to the section My Resources.

Editor - Button Neue Seite erstellen_en.png

2. Enter a title in the corresponding text field and configure the following optional settings:

  • Display of artefact: Do you want the artefacts added by the user to be displayed in a table or as a thumbnail on the page?
  • Description: If necessary, add a description. For example, you can provide explanations of the artefacts that will be collected here.
  • Restrictions: The settings configured in this area determine which and how many artefact types the course participants should collect. These conditions are displayed to the user at the top of their portfolio, and they can only submit a portfolio task using this template if all the restrictions for the quantity and artefact type have been met. Therefore, you can configure your preferences for the artefacts to be collected in the section Restrictions. With the plus and minus symbol at the end of a condition, it is possible to create additional restrictions or delete existing ones.

Set restrictions to the artefacts

For each portfolio page, restrictions can be made as to which types and how many artefacts should be collected by the course participants. A portfolio task can only be submitted if these restrictions are met. The configuration of the restrictions is done in the editor view of a page and explained in the section Add and configure a new page.

Other options

The following functions are additionally available to you in the editor:

  • Select layout: Here you can choose between different views for the editor area (e.g. simple, comic or grey).
  • Allow comments: Enable this option to allow comments in the portfolio task.
  • Swap order: You can change the order of the various portfolio pages at any time using drag & drop.
