Kommunizieren im virtuellen Klassenzimmer

Step 1

 


Kurs erstellen

Um einen Kurs zu erstellen, gehen Sie nach dem Login wie folgt vor:

Öffnen Sie den Tab Lehren & Lernen. Klicken Sie im linken Navigationsbereich auf den Eintrag Überblick. Hier finden Sie die Funktionsbox Kurs erstellen.

Einen Button zum Erstellen von Kursen und einzelnen Lerninhalten finden Sie auch nach dem Öffnen der Menüpunkte Meine Kurse und Meine Lerninhalte.

Zusätzlich ist die Funktionsbox je nach Systemkonfiguration und Nutzerrechten im Portlet Erste Schritte auf der Startseite verfügbar.

Im Dialog Kurs erstellen tragen Sie nun einen Titel und eine Beschreibung für Ihren Kurs ein. Optional können Sie ein Bild hinzufügen, Metadaten und ggf. eine Semesterzuordnung pflegen.

Um die Erstellung abzuschließen, wählen Sie die Option Kurseditor starten. Diese Option legt den Kurs mit den getroffenen Einstellungen an und öffnet ihn direkt in der Kurseditoransicht. Sie können direkt beginnen, den Kurs mit Kurselementen, den sogenannten Kursbausteinen, zu füllen.

Create course

With the release of OPAL 11.1, the course creation is available in the new user interface. How to create courses in the old user interface is explained in the section Create courses in the old user interface below.


To create a course, proceed as follows:

Open the tab Teach & Learn. In the left navigation area, click on the entry Overview and quick access. Here you will find the function box Create course.

A button for creating courses and individual learning content can also be found after opening the menu items My courses and My resources.

Depending on the system configuration and user rights, this box is also available in the First steps portlet on the home page.

In the Create course dialogue, you can now enter a title and description for your course. Optionally, you can also add an image and assign metadata or a semester.

To complete the course creation, choose between the following options:

  • Done: This option creates the course with the settings configured and opens it in the course view.
  • Start course editor: This option creates the course with the settings configured and opens it in the course editor view. You can directly start filling the course with course elements.
  • Cancel: This option closes the dialogue. The course will not be created.

Create courses in the old user interface

To create a course in the old user interface, proceed as follows:

Click on Save and then on Finish to continue.

Choose one of the three options:

  • Create a plain course with a wizard (for beginners)
  • Start course editor (for experts)
  • Show details and settings

Create a course with a wizard

This option opens a wizard to guide you through the first steps of the course creation. You can choose from pre-designed templates, select course elements you wish to use in your course directly from within the wizard, or copy one of your existing courses. After completing the wizard, these elements will be immediately available in the course. This option is suitable for beginners.

Create a course with the course editor

This option opens the course editor, which allows you to integrate course elements individually. This option is suitable for advanced users.

Show details and settings

This option opens the detailed view of the course, which includes additional information and functions.

Select the option Create a plain course with a wizard (for beginners).

In the first step of the wizard, you can choose between the following three options:

  • Create a new course: You will create a completely new course without using a template.

    • Select the course elements you wish to include in your course. Later, you can still add more content to your course via the course editor.
    • Then click on Finish. Your course will now open in view mode.

  • Copy course template: You will create a completely new course based on a template.

    • Select a course template from the list and click on Finish.
    • Your course will now open in view mode.

  • Copy an existing course: You will copy one of your existing courses.

    • Select one of your courses from the list.

    • Then click on Finish to have your course copied and displayed.

      Individual course templates

      The learning platform already contains course templates for typical standard scenarios. However, it is also possible to add further individually designed course templates. These course templates need to be integrated into the learning platform by the system administrator.

Select one of the options and continue with the next steps.

Import course

To import a course, proceed as follows:

Open the tab Teach & Learn and click on Import course.

In the dialogue, you have the option to select a file from your Personal folder or to upload a course from your PC.

  1. Click on Select folder.
  2. For the next step, select the folder from which you wish to import the course and confirm your choice with Select folder.
  3. Search and select your course. Confirm your choice with Select.
  4. As a next step, you can customise the description and metadata of the imported course. Confirm your entries with Save and Finish.
  5. You will then be asked if you wish to start the editor.
  1. Click on Upload file.
  2. In the next window, you can select a course from your computer via Select file.
  3. Click on Upload.

Virtuelles Klassenzimmer betreten

Raum eröffnen

Ein Raum kann von einem Nutzer mit Modereationsrechten eröffnet und auch beendet werden.

Öffnen Sie den Kursbaustein Virtuelles Klassenzimmer. Als Nutzer mit Moderationsrechten sehen Sie die Schaltfläche Raum eröffnen und betreten.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Raum eröffnen und betreten um das Virtuelle Klassenzimmer zu starten.

Der Raum wird in einem neuen Tab geöffnet. Dementsprechend ist es erforderlich, dass Ihr Browser Pop-ups zulässt.

Raum betreten

Nachdem der Raum im Kursbaustein Virtuelles Klassenzimmer eröffnet wurde, kann dieser betreten werden.

Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche Raum betreten.

Der Raum wird in einem neuen Tab geöffnet. Dementsprechend ist es erforderlich, dass Ihr Browser Pop-ups zulässt.

Überblick der wichtigsten Schaltflächen/Funktionen innerhalb des Virtuellen Klassenzimmers

Beim Betreten des Virtuellen Klassenzimmers wird das je nach Institution verfügbare Konferenzsystem gestartet.  Einen kurzen Überblick der wichtigsten Funktionen je Konferenzsystem bietet folgende Übersicht.

Meeting

Mit Klick auf diese Schaltfläche haben Sie die Möglichkeit, allgemeine Einstellungen zum aktuellen Meeting vorzunehmen. Beispielsweise können Sie den Zugang und Eintritt verwalten, das Meeting aufzeichnen oder auch das Meeting beenden.

Layouts

An dieser Stelle können Sie diverse Einstellungen zum Thema Layout festlegen. Klicken Sie auf diese Schaltfläche, wenn Sie beispielsweise ein neues Layout erstellen möchten oder bestehende Layouts verwalten oder zurücksetzen wollen.

Pods

Mit dieser Schaltfläche haben Sie die Möglichkeit, die vorhandenen Pods zu verwalten und gegebenenfalls auf dem Bildschirm zu platzieren. Klicken Sie auf die Schaltfläche, um eine Übersicht über die bestehenden Pods zu erhalten.

Audio-Einstellungen

Mit Klick auf diese Schaltfläche haben Sie die Möglichkeit, allgemeine Audioeinstellungen vorzunehmen. Beispielsweise können Sie über Mikrofonberechtigungen der Teilnehmer entscheiden oder den Einzelrednermodus aktivieren.

Lautsprecher

Klicken Sie auf das Lautsprechersymbol, um die Stummschaltung der Lautsprecher aufzuheben. Wenn die Lautsprecher aktiv sind, wird das Symbol grün. Mit Klick auf das Erweiterungssymbol haben Sie außerdem die Möglichkeit, die Lautsprecherlautstärke anzupassen.

Audio

Mit Klick auf das Audiosymbol haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihr Audio zu verbinden. Bei erfolgreicher Verbindung wird das Symbol grün. Außerdem können Sie mithilfe des Erweiterungssymbols ein Mikrofon auswählen.

Webcam

Klicken Sie auf das Webcam-Symbol, um Ihre private Webcam zu aktivieren. Bei erfolgreicher Aktivierung wird das Symbol grün. Das Erweiterungssymbol führt zu weiteren Einstellungen zum Thema Webcam.

Status festlegen

An dieser Stelle haben Sie die Möglichkeit, einen Status festzulegen. Klicken Sie hierfür auf das Erweiterungssymbol und wählen Sie einen Status aus. Es stehen Ihnen unter anderem Stimmt zu, Stimmt nicht zu und Zu Wort melden zur Verfügung. Sie können den Status zu jeder Zeit ändern oder auch löschen.

Bildschirm freigeben

Mit Klick auf diese Schaltfläche haben Sie die Möglichkeit, Ihren Bildschirm für die anderen Teilnehmer freizugeben. Außerdem können Sie mithilfe des Erweiterungssymbols zwischen weiteren Optionen wählen wie Dokument freigeben oder Whiteboard freigeben .

After the virtual classroom has been opened, BigBlueButton provides the following functions:

In the middle of the page is the presentation interface. On all sides of this interface, you will find all available functions and setting options (2-5).

At the top right, you can change basic settings or log out at the end of the session.

On the left, you will find the list of participants as well as access to chat options (public chat with all participants, private chat with individual participants). The list of participants can be extended or minimised using the appropriate icon Icon_BBB Teilnehmerliste.png.

Moderators can give participants additional rights.

Participants can show their current status and change it as they wish. The selected status will be displayed in the list of participants.

At the bottom of the page, you can start or stop audio and video functions, as well as upload and share files for presentation if you have presentation rights. To share your screen, use the last icon Icon_BBB - Bildschirm freigeben.png.

On the right, the presenter sees tools they may use to accompany their lecture. Depending on the tool you choose, further selections change accordingly. The last icon in the toolbar is for starting the multi-user mode. This mode allows participants to actively participate in the presentation and to add notes or markings themselves.
