Provide global course templates

To help authors create well-structured courses in an easy and quick way, the learning platform offers course templates. These templates are made available in the wizard during the course creation. This function is presented to the author as follows:

The learning platform already contains templates for typical standard scenarios. Beyond that, it is also possible to augment the range of given templates not only for the learning platform in general, but also for selected clients in particular with further, individually designed course templates.

Further course templates need to be integrated into the learning platform by the system administrator.

To provide further templates in the system, proceed as follows:

  1. Create a course. This course will later function as the course template. If required, you can create additional learning resources such as wikis or media libraries and integrate them into the course using course elements. Further information is provided in the section Course elements.
  2. Export the created course including all integrated learning resources. Select the export format OPAL course without history data. 
    You will be offered a file ("course title_without_history data.zip") for download.
  3. Contact your system administrator and make the zip file available to them. They can then integrate the course template either system-wide or only for a defined client into the learning platform.

System administrators are welcome to approach the technical support of the BPS Bildungsportal Sachsen GmbH. We will then provide you with the technical documentation necessary for the integration of course templates and assist you with any further questions you might have.
